Takeo province, bordering the South Viet Nam, has several important pré-Angkorien sites built between V - VIII century.
To Takeo, Phnom Chisor, it is a temple well preserved of the 11th century of the Angkor era which is now a place where Buddhists make religious pilgrimages.
Phnom Chisor is a historic site located in the village of the Sia, 62 km south of Phnom Penh or 27 kilometres north of the city of Takeo province.
It is a temple which was built in the early 11th century by King Suryavarman I. built in sandstone and other stones and is located at the top of a mountain, surrounded by a panoramic view. There are 503 steps.
The temple is surrounded by two galleries. The first gallery is 60 metres long on each side.The second gallery, smaller, is at the centre, where it is the main worship with two doors and a statue in wood. beautiful sculptures on the lintel and pillars there.
In Takeo, Tonlé Bati is a favourite recreational place for Cambodians to stop making a Khmer meals.

Phnom Ta Mao is Tropiang Sap, located 40 km south of Phnom Penh. The site has mountains, the largest national zoo and ancient temples. There are five mountains on this site - Phnom Tamao, Thma back Phnom, Phnom Pdaov Pun, Phnom Chhoy and Phnom Bang. Throughout the site extends over 2,500 hectares, which is most the area of protected forest. Department of the Foresty of the Ministry of Agriculture has taken more than 1 200 hectares for planting trees and zoo.
Zoo National Phnom Ta Mao 70 hectares and is under the supervision of the Department. It includes 84 varieties of birds, reptiles and the quadrupeds. Animals include alligators, elephants, lions, Tigers and bears, were collected by the Department of Agriculture.
Phnom Da is located in the village of Prek Ta Phor, 24 km east of the provincial city of Takeo through the water or 102 km south of Phnom Penh by road. this part of the country is flooded six months of the yearthe season of rain and dry, the rest of the year.
Phnom Da is a cultural, historical site which has been renovated to provide visitors a place of relaxation. the landscape is beautiful throughout the year. During the rainy season, there is a large basin that produces lush paddy fields, green season dry.
Temple of Ta Prohm
This temple, adapted of Bayon Style, was built in the late 12th and early 13th centuries, during the reign of King Jayavarman VII (1181-1120) as a place of worship for Buddhists. temple is 42 metres long, 36 metres wide and 11 meters high. The temple was built in brick and laterite and divided in several rooms.
